Liquid or gaseous thermal fluids such as water, diathermic oil, steam, or refrigerant gases flow inside the pillow plates. The liquid to be cooled or heated is outside the plates. In the case of multiple plates connected as a single heat exchanger, the external fluid flows through the channels formed between these plates. Unlike tube heat exchangers, DAV Pillow facilitates the creation of convective motions which facilitate heat exchange even when immersed in stagnant water.
