Using the DAV Pillow technology combined with refrigeration circuits, it is possible to instantly produce frozen water or actual accumulations of ice.

It is a water film chiller designed to efficiently lower the water temperature to required levels, and control it precisely. This cooler, therefore, ensures continuous and uniform cooling of the products. Its open system design allows water to recirculate without waste of water, as well as being suitable for cooling contaminated liquids.

At the top of the device, the water is distributed through small holes on the pillow plates mounted underneath. A thin layer of water cascades onto the plate, reaching the desired temperature. A falling film chiller can cool water down close to 0°C and then distributed to where it is needed, such as a plate heat exchanger or process vessel. The used water is collected and reused, repeating the cycle.

ICE BANK

The Ice Bank system is based on storing cooling capacity . At night, when electricity is cheaper, chillers cool the fluid and store it as either icy water or ice. During the day, when electricity is more expensive, stored capacity is used to meet cooling load requirements, reducing energy consumption.

There are two main configurations:
A) as alternative source to the chiller, which is therefore switched off.
B) in addition to the chiller to obtain greater refrigerating capacities, but with a lower power of the machine itself. This results in: smaller initial capital costs for equipment, smaller power of the electrical supply to be installed.

An ice bank is a DAV Pillow system immersed in a container flooded with water. At night, when energy is low, the plates freeze the water in the tank. During the day, the ice will melt into ice water to indirectly cool the products.
